Written for the Elliot Lawrence Orchestra and recorded in 1955, Bweebida Bobbida is a play on Gershwin's I Got Rhythm and the word bebop. You hear this coming from the trombones and the trumpets throughout the tune. At letter A, the trumpets respond to the trombones with a rising countermelody; at letter B, the trombones answer themselves along with the trumpets playing a Charleston rhythm. Meanwhile, the saxes use rising pedal tones on beat four to give the tune direction. Part of the 2024-25 Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Program.
