When Terry Gibbs formed his Dream Band in 1959 he had Bob Brookmeyer, Bill Holman, Marty Paich, Al Cohn, Med Flory, and Manny Albam write charts for the book. While going through Terry's library we discovered an arrangement of Temptation that Albam wrote for Terry that was never used. In fact, it appears as though parts were never even created. Terry remembers asking Manny to write a chart on the tune, but at this point doesn't remember why they didn't play the chart. He suspects it was left out of the band book simply because they already had enough material. We are pleased to present a previously unknown Manny Albam arrangement!

This great swing chart on the Nacio Herb Brown/Arthur Freed standard is, not surprisingly, a vibraphone feature. The arrangement includes the usual interesting Albam harmonic and rhythmic touches. We have included a midi playback of the arrangement so you can get an idea of the feel. There are no saxophone doubles. Also included are optional Eb and Bb soloist parts that may be used in place of the vibraphone.
